Union Station Love Story
Samantha & Conner
Samantha and Conner's wedding was a testament to meticulous planning and personal expression, seamlessly blending elegance with meaningful nods to their shared journey. From the outset, they entrusted us as their wedding planner to ensure a flawless experience, allowing them to focus on graduating from law school and preparing for the bar exams. With an impending move from St. Louis to Chicago, we collaborated closely to manage the logistics of planning a wedding from afar.
As guests arrived, they were treated to delightful welcome bags at their hotel. Each bag contained custom sugar cookies shaped like the face of Samantha and Conner's beloved fur-baby, Frank, adding a charming and personal layer to the guest experience. Further enhancing the experience, the bags also included helpful information about the wedding weekend, branded with the couple's monogram, and a beautifully hand-drawn map of downtown Kansas City. These thoughtful touches ensured guests felt informed and cherished, making them feel an integral part of the couple's special day.
The weekend unfolded beautifully, beginning with a rehearsal on Friday evening followed by an intimate dinner at J. Rieger distillery. This setting provided a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere for close family and friends to toast the couple. Later that evening, all guests were invited to a welcome party, offering a relaxed and festive opportunity to shower Samantha and Conner with love and well-wishes on the eve of their vows.
The ceremony took place at Christ Community in Brookside, offering an intimate and serene setting that resonated with their desire for a personal and sincere exchange of vows. Adding a poignant touch, their pastor from St. Louis traveled to officiate the ceremony, offering a cherished connection to their past and community. This gesture underscored the significance of the day, infusing it with familiarity and warmth.
The reception unfolded at the historic Union Station in Kansas City, a grand and sophisticated venue that provided a majestic backdrop for their celebrations. However, the planning process was not without its challenges. The NFL draft was held at Union Station the week before their wedding, posing several last-minute hurdles. We approached these challenges with calm and grace, ensuring that every detail was managed with precision and the event came together perfectly.
Throughout the process, we infused the wedding with unique elements that told their story. Samantha and Conner wanted to incorporate meaningful touches from their time in St. Louis. We arranged for Ted Drews frozen custard to be featured on the dessert table, offering guests a taste of an iconic St. Louis treat. For a late-night snack, Imo's pizza delighted attendees, serving as another beloved staple from their college days.
Samantha's style—elegant, feminine, and sophisticated—guided our choices for decor and floral arrangements. Our curated team of vendors executed each detail with precision, ensuring that the day truly reflected the couple's aesthetic and personal tastes.
We approached every step of the planning with dedication, from venue selection to vendor coordination, allowing Samantha and Conner to enjoy their special day without worry. Their wedding was more than just a celebration of their union; it was a tribute to their journey, marked by the cherished memories of the places and experiences that shaped their love. As they embark on their new chapter in Chicago, the memories of their wedding will remain a cherished foundation for their future together.
As the festivities drew to a close, reflecting on Samantha and Conner’s wedding fills me with immense gratitude and joy. It was a heartfelt honor to help plan one of the most significant days of their lives, ensuring every detail reflected their unique love story. Along this journey, we didn’t just craft a seamless and unforgettable celebration; we also forged a genuine friendship. Witnessing their vision come to life with elegance and grace was incredibly rewarding, and knowing that we created lasting memories together is something I will cherish forever. As they embark on their new chapter in Chicago, I am thrilled to have been part of this beautiful milestone in their journey.
